Creating Going On...

Creating what can I say as I sit here and type, it goes on in every way. From yarn and needles to every medium one can imagine. Even those among nature whether plants, grass, trees, including animal's and insects we are on Earth always creating. This post is dedicated to Lucy, one of my girl's in the top photograph, who passed Thursday Morning.

To those who understand an animal is a huge part of family. It's an extended family that goes beyond a closed house door. To loose one hits the heart just like family because truly that's what they are...as my heart felt the loss of Lucy Thursday morning, I sat outside much of the day and watched all my girl's, sad to see there was no Lucy. Sadness engulfed me in ways I never thought possible, after all, I raised her from a 2 day old baby. I felt the loss and so tired of it all around me.

This year has not been a good one. I do my best everyday to put the days that go by behind me. It's not as easy as most think, especially after loosing my other, Jim, on May 17, 2017. Then it was 6 baby chick's after, one everyday for six days, frantically trying to figure out what was going wrong. Then, Lucy...I have had enough of death this year...from my neighbor loosing her brother, to loosing a neighbor and other's I knew. I want to yell loudly, enough!

Then on Friday the 13th a day that everyone, everywhere, is trying to avoid superstitious Friday, I had a little miracle. I had not idea and had even examined the doe and found nothing a few weeks ago. It was and still is amazingly heartfelt how things can turn around when we least expect it. I know, I know, everyone reading is thinking, yes, that's how it works. And it's true...if one waits and just takes it day to day without expectations or answers, things do happen. And yes, on there own time. Sophie and Sammy are my two chocolate chinchilla rabbits who became parents to 8 little babies Friday afternoon. My outlook changed immediately upon finding them...everything seemed lighter and I was finding a happy heart within me. It has been quite awhile since I have felt this way it nearly seemed impossible. My Sophie, I love her just like a child...and I feel much like her...a proud mama.

To Lucy, thank you so very much, for being a part of my family outside the closed door of my house. I love you, miss you, and will keep you in heart and mind, always.

Relax Create Sell

Today, I had some little unexpected visitors, my daughter and grandson's. I love these moments of spontaneity, life surprises, all things of the heart. Spending time in the garden digging for grubs to give to the girl's. Peaceful, blissful moments a reminder how precious life is and how these moments will represent who I am when they are grown.

At first, it was a bit of a shock and surprise to them all in one package. The oldest Mr. W caught on real fast he is a lover of animals...especially dinosaur's. Mr H. in the background preferred to just follow the girl's (orplington chick's) around. The experience had them captivated all afternoon tending to and following the girl's.

The evening is ending with me crocheting a blanket pattern by, Kate Eastman, of Just Pootling. I love her Instagram page and blog. Her patterns are simple yet beautiful she has a way with yarn. This is going to be her star baby blanket. I was looking for a simple pattern something that didn't take much concentration. A smooth rhythm was what I needed, at this time, when a friend who has cancer is on my mind a lot. A simple single crochet over 91 stitches can be found here. I am using Cascade Avalon in silver.

And finally, I have these two Mermaid Pillowcases ready to sell. They are brand new. There is a delicate scroll design on the fabric which is Unbleached Osanburg. Fabric was pre-washed, they are 20" by 26" standard pillowcase's. The Mermaid Ruffle is 11" long sewn with french seams.

This is how it will lay once filled with a pillow and how the Osanburg fabric appears. They're a set if you're interested leave a comment. I will be selling them through my Paypal account, can send an invoice. The price is 39.95 for the two, of course, plus shipping which would be priority 6.50. They will come packaged in clear cello sleeve with care instructions attached. There will be more pillowcases available throughout the year.
Thank you dear friends, for passing through to visit my post. It's so appreciated.

What's Hooking

Minion's oh my gosh...I am crocheting again...what has happened. I do believe it's my grand children, actually my grand daughter had one and everyone was looking for them. So I stepped up and decided to make them...my cell phone is just not producing good photographs....arg! Don't know what is going on, but, it's needs tweaking. Technology, oh yes, I do admit it has it's perks, however, it also has it's fault and let's not go into those...this hat is so easy and crochets up quickly. Once I get the darn thing finished I will post the pattern. I know there are a lot of them on the internet still I will post it.
I am also working on a few other crochet  projects at the same time, arg did I just print that....yup... am sure you will love. They work up quickly, so hoping to post them within the next couple weeks.

On the farm front...the girl's are growing quickly...soon to out grow there current home. I am working on a new coup hopefully it will be done soon. These are Oplington Chicken's which lay large brown eggs..six of these girl's are currently in the house in the tub...that's right the tub. No problem though, that is until the wings develop more which means I better hurry on the coup. Gosh, I am working the garden, crocheting, building a coup and more...and loving it all.. In the meantime have a beautiful day and keep creating any way you can...

New Arrivals

The girl's arrive a couple days ago and are settling in quite fine. I am taking on a new challenge, well sorta, I was actually raised on a Chicken farm but it's been a long time. I suppose it's like riding a bike one never really forgets past experiences. They are Orpington Chick's quite the cuties at this stage, as I wait, for the feathers to grow in...I am building a coop for them all. Currently they are enjoying the bath tub covered in nice chippings, a heat lamp, food and water. It's been a long time since I have been around chicken's. My parents raised them for eggs and poultry in my mind I can still see how it was back than, it's nice that we are able to store and replay memories so vividly. At time it's rings true what goes around comes back around. Thank you Mom and Dad for the education in chickens and so much more....I miss you both and love you so very much.
