Two Drawer Makeover Part 1

Hello dear readers, yes, popping in again spontaneously. Hoping all are having a good week thus far the weekend is not far off for a bit of relaxing if in winter area's....actually weekends are just all around amazing...I have been dabbling in many different materials lately. Actually the move has still got me a bit unsettled both emotionally and spiritually. I feel a bit unbalanced by it all..for some reason when we age we think or feel things should get calmer and easier during changes. For me I thought it would be... never did I think it would leave me feeling as I do. Then again I am a very sensitive person and tend to absorb life like a sponge. That is I feel nearly everything going on around  me in life and even from those close to me. I also find as I get older the less people in general I interact with personally the better off I am. It just seems there have been so many issues and problems in the World too, I am sure I am not the only one who has felt or noticed it. I don't really know where we are headed in this World I only hope it's better than it has been. I know, I know, everyone seems to be talking about it so yes I will stop.

I found a couple drawers that belonged to an old bathroom counter which was sadly beyond repair..not much one can do with plywood that is way beyond help...as handy as I am at working with tools and building furniture...there was nothing I thought would help. So, I took these two adorable little drawers and cut them down.

Bare with me as I do settle my spirit get back on track to knitting and a bit of crocheting. Sitting still right now is not good for a gal like me... whee...my mind just doesn't shut down and it's not on creative things right now.
So...back to the drawers...I plan on sealing the holes tonight where the handles settled. I am sure by now most are thinking okay seen this time and again on Pinterest...I hear ya...Pinterest is a site I do love to troll, however, I love it more for yarn ideas and patterns. It's funny when I think of Pinterest or for that the Internet I go back in my mind to the days where none of this existed. Craft supplies where hard to find, basically one had just a department store to try and find something. Now it seems its available everywhere and makes it tough to do original things. But, I have not plan here...did you expect to hear one? Nope not this gal...when it comes to reworking items making them into something new...I tend to go with the flow...let my mind take it day by day where it want the item to go...hence the drawers. I kind of have something in mind...but knowing me...it will take on a life of it's own. This is part 1 of the drawer project...stay tuned in as they take on whatever they are meant to be other their original design. In the meantime keep creating and watch ABC tonight the girl's are back...Olivia Pope and Annalise Keating aka Scandal and How to get away with Murder...Love, love, love these shows...Thanks for popping in Blessings to all.

Tea Towel Crochet Pattern for Spring

Spring is here although a bit cool off and on it's nice to see all the grass green and robin's posing everywhere. Things are blooming which means we have about another couple weeks here in Ohio before the tree buds actually become leaves. Yet it's a start and it's one of my favorite times of year. Everything is new and fresh, the air feels clean with a smell of a freshly opened sea breeze candle, clothes hanging out floating through the breeze. Ah, the smell is marvelous, inhale it all, and exhale it out, cleansing the body of it's dust that lingers through the winter...and with that a bit of trivia... the American Robin is the first bird to sing in the morning and the first to lay eggs to hatch in the spring. Although my favorite birds are the yellow Finch, the Oriole, and of course, who doesn't love the dainty little Hummingbird. I must not forget the Crow, yes the Crow, amazing how intelligent this bird is...and how observant of humans.
I've been knitting away at Emma's Blanket too which seems as though it's going on and on as if to say, this is your year project. Oh, I hope not, as Emma's first birthday is about 3 weeks away. Oh please, I say to the needles, move just a bit faster as my finger begin to tire. It really does seem like it's taking longer than any other blanket I have knitted. Speaking of which I really love knitting blankets. I am so creative, it's really takes a lot for me to focus on knitting sweaters and such. I've added a pattern below which I translated from Dutch and made a couple myself. As I have written it, it may be a bit hard to understand as I didn't really have time to put much thought into it. I am quite sure those who crochet at an intermediate level will understand. I will make a point hopefully in the upcoming week to put together a tutorial for everyone. In the meantime enjoy spring!
P.S. the little gray blanket with pink flowers I found on a French blog. I will translate and list the instructions hopefully this week...gee...I just realized I am putting a lot on my schedule in the upcoming week.

UPDATE- as a photographer at one time for "Olan Mills Portrait Studio" I am now taking my photographing to another level, learning more as I move forward. If you'd like to see what I have done so far please visit my facebook page "Under The Moon Photography"

Spring at Last....

Although we are still just a couple days away from Spring the Robins are everywhere. It's so nice to see, hopefully, we are done with all the snow. There isn't much blooming yet, then again, it's still March, but I welcome it still the same. I took a walk in the woods my favorite place to be, it settles my soul to be among nature. Sadly this past winter my neighbor, Cindy, and I didn't see any deer, apparently they were rather shy this year as there were tons of tracks in the woods. I love spring it's the birth of everything new, just like a baby born I delight in what I see. Looking forward to all the fresh new pops of life growing out of the ground the buds on the trees, and the birth of everything nature has to offer. It just refreshes the spirit, no matter what age, spring seems to light up our souls, and that's a welcoming thing.

Only 53 Days Until SPRING....

So they say only 53 days until spring, although winter is still here, I am so happy we were not hit like last year. The most we've had at one time is 3 maybe 4 inches. Who can complain..I can...every year a man and his truck is suppose to clear my driveway...this year it seems to be little old me. Then again I don't mind it's good for the body...right...as 5 trucks with snow shovels on the front... sat at the light and just watched me...thanks guys..next time I'll wear a sign hey help here. After all they say men are problem solvers and not mind readers.

After I finished the driveway I took a walk around the back by the woods...oh it was so beautiful.

The pine trees all filled with fresh white snow the weather not to cold...it just felt good.

I marveled at whatever this tall weed is...really...I need to find out I should know by now. Smothered in ice and fresh snow it's just seemed in need of attention.

As did this grape vine that appeared to being weeping as if to say where is spring.

And of course my lavender...hold on girls I said out loud, as they are in the direction of the cold wind.

And then it happened as I was walking further back to the woods something just didn't feel right...I took one look down and there is was my leggings inside out...not to mention they were light weight summer jeggings as they call them.

So in my inside out twisted jeggings I plopped down and made my first snow angel of the winter. Needless to say...my jeggings were soaked. And I had a blast! Do you know how hard it is to get up without destroying a work of art in the snow. I managed thinking how on earth did I do this has a child...oh well.

back to the house around the corner a broken tree branch just looked so beautiful as it glittered in the light...I snapped a photo. Isn't it amazing!

Needless to say I had a good time...as the old saying goes "if you can't beat winter join it" and that's what I did...let my child out to play in the snow. Try it sometime it's really refreshing all the way around.

Cute Little Sign

Where has this Butterpillar been?? Of course trying to turn into a Caterfly. Yes, my love of words has me creating these quirky quotes. Along with being so incredibly tired, what did I say, tired, yes, tired, or derit, I also have a habit of reading and spelling backwards. Oh, the days of being tired and having enough, enough of what you may wonder. Menopause, Post Menopause, Peri - Menopause. The fatigue, the bloatness, the hot flashes, the crabby, cranky days, where you just want to go outside naked, cool off, and scream! WHERE THE HECK IS SPRING!

In the meantime, I have been catering to 82 tomato plants, 4 squash, 4 cucumber, and only 2 little lavender plants, the only two to survive. It's amazing how much attention all this requires, but the end result is worth it all. I've also been crocheting my grannie squares and enjoying watching the blanket grow. Yes, my very first grannie square blanket. You go girl! And eating dark chocolate york peppermint patties. So there you have it....this Butterpillar who's getting older is still trying desperately to turn into a Caterfly, why....so the darn Meno-P whatever STOPS! If you want to copy the sign simply click on it to enlarge, then right click and save to your computer.

Until we meet again! I am off... literally!

How Would it....

It's a beautiful day here a bit cool, but the sun is shinning and the sky is as blue as can be... The trees aren't showing any signs of renewing yet, up here in the North East things are still a bit touch and go with the weather. I am looking out my front window a place where my grandson sat last year in the summer, he said, "grammie it's such a beautiful view you have up here" amazing a 9 year old noticing the view. Then again, hes special....not just because he's my grandson he has a glow about him, that goes beyond his years. I smile all the time when he's around me as a baby he was amazing articulate at a very early age. He is that of my son, his father, an exact duplicate right down to the face, hair and size. When he's around me it tends to take me back in time, often a time I miss, when his father was his age. I spend time differently with my grandson than I did his father, we don't realize those things when where in them...that time doesn't stand still waiting for us to catch up in wisdom. To stand in the moment like a tree, waiting for a breeze to move our attention to another place. My view,  my grandson's view are that of the same, now that time has passed, I understand my mother, and more importantly the roll of my grandmother. Both standing in the same time only decades apart, me innocent, her wise now both seeing the same view in that the same moment, waiting for the breeze to move us along, we enjoy each other. I knew she understood me, I knew we inhabited the same space when together....something most parents are robbed of...trying to absorb the world and paying the bills...

I know there are those out there that are wise beyond their years. Those who bask in the joy of those moments at a young age and throughout their lives. I have no regrets or would I change my past I just sometimes wonder as I look out the window on a sunny day....I daydream and wonder if it could be written as a novel how would it all have turned out...had I have been one who was wise beyond my years as I began my life... How would it have been for you...do you ever wonder?

UPDATED PARAGRAPH BELOW......

My son always says to me...why is it mom, some people have an easier life than others. I say this and believe it with all my being. "those who have it more difficult then others are the special ones in life, as through their journey... although there life is so incredibly tough... the wisdom has always been there from the beginning waiting to be unlocked by a mishap along the way...no matter how devastating it may be" I would rather be the one with all the devastation than to be one who sees it only during the death of there life.
