A Handmade Quilt and A Touch of Hearts....

 Hello dear readers, Popping in  with a quick update on the progress of Emma's baby quilt. I am having so much fun hand sewing this quilt I can not tell you. If you haven't done one without a sewing machine, try it, you will fall in love. It's relaxing, rewarding, just all around the best way I have made a quilt. I like the way the pattern is coming together, although I haven't decided whether I am going to hand quilt the top once it's put together or machine. It depends on the pattern I choose.

I close this post today with this gorgeous photograph of 3 young cancer victims who didn't know each other. Yet on the day of the photograph, seemed to capture a moment of just how precious a similar connection can embrace the soul without ever meeting. God Bless these little ones who struggle daily with there fight against cancer, may they win there battle and live long lives.

Making the Baby Quilt

TGIF it's Friday!! Hello dear readers,

Since my post yesterday, and the mentioning of the quilt. I thought I'd give you a peek at what I'm doing the colors and how I plan to put it together.

The colors in this photograph aren't really showing them as they are one gets a better view in the top photograph. Here I am working on setting up the squares for a nice quilt pattern.

This quilt is for Emma Ann the new little one in the first photograph in the last post below. I am planning on doing most of it by hand, finishing off the gray squares with some pink detail so far, not sure. I really do love the colors and the fact they will match her nursery perfectly. I will have to photograph her nursery its so beautiful, the gray's, whites, and pinks. I just love it and this will be a good addition.

So there you have it for Friday, have a wonderful weekend. It's a bit cool here kind of dreary, cloudy and rainy. It's been that way for days. Doesn't help the mood, so I'm doing what I can to stay occupied and not let these days get to me. Enjoy where ever you are, thanks again for visiting.

Raining Babies

Hello all, I know my posting has been far apart. I'd like to thank all who follow and visit for doing so, its truly from my heart, much appreciated. And with that said.....

It's been raining babies around me, yes in deed, I am a grand mother for the 3rd time in 5 months. All three girl's had babies just months apart. This is Emma Ann, just a day old, she was due the end of May but decided to surprise us all. She arrived May 9th, 2014 this baby girl is a doll, she was so tiny at 6 lbs. 09 oz. I can't remember seeing a baby so small. It's been so long for me it's hard to image the size. Emma Ann belongs to my daughter in law, Amanda, and my second oldest son, Aaron, she is there first born.

Yep, this is my son, Aaron, he is the proud father of Emma Ann. He looks like he's in love, doesn't he? I am so head over heels happy for them. He was due to head to Spain right before she was born, Aaron designs new systems for cars. They send him to other countries to see how cars have advanced and what idea's he can bring back. In a couple weeks it's off to Spain and yes at 31 he is rather gray, gets it from his dad who went all gray by 35, poor guy.

                                                                     

Then there is me, yes I am the grandma to this beautiful little girl. Emma is the second girl in the family, my first grandchildren were boy's. I haven't had a new grand baby in 7 years, the first two boy's are currently 7 and 11. I too am head over heels in love with this little girl!!!

I took all the photographs with my Cannon Rebel here is Camilla Marie, finally home from the NICU last week. She finally but on the pounds she needed to come home, she was in the NICU for 6 weeks. What a blessing she is to the family and to her brothers, my first grand children. She was my very first grand daughter. I am so happy and head over heels in love with her!!! Oh, and I set the camera for this photo on monochrome/black and white. Isn't it just gorgeous?

And finally her mom, Shawna, my daughter in law to my oldest son, Adam. They now have 3 gorgeous children, two boy's and this little girl, Camilla Marie. As you can see it's been a busy time with babies and grandma trying to keep up with blankets, knitting, etc. for them all. All the girl's the first being my daughter to have William on November 12, 2013 are asking me for anything handmade. Although Shawna in the photograph made it very clear... no more pink.

So there they are, I will keep you posted. Currently I am putting together a pink and gray quilt for Emma. Oh, its going to be beautiful and goes with her nursery so well. I can't wait to finish it. I also have three baby blankets to make. Thanks to Kate at Just Pootling for posting her blanket pattern for me. A bountiful of babies

Spring has arrive and it's been filled with babies.... of all kinds.

Remember baby William who was born November 12, 2013 he is really becoming a big boy, ooh so fast.

At 5 months here and now nearly 6 it's hard to believe how moments in time seem to fly by... That of course, is his mama, my daughter, Dannon. She is such a wonderful mother and a beautiful daughter.

As you may remember too, I purchased a Cannon Rebel EOS T3i and have been having so much fun experimenting with all the different settings, and ways I can photograph. I am loving it. This certainly says spring is here to stay, and the rebirth of everything is glorious, isn't it?

Then there is this new one added to my grand baby list. Meet Camilla (Ca Mil La) Marie, she was born premature on March 25th with a few minor problems that has her still at the NICU finally weighing in at 7 lbs. which took quite awhile. She is coming home the first week of May, she is my very first grand daughter. I am in love! Welcome to our family and the world little girl. 

On that note, I have another grand daughter due to arrive the end of May. We are so blessed with babies.

Even the smallest of baby flowers that grow random in our yards. Most apply fertilizer which saddens me as these are so beautiful when in bloom. The color is magnificent as are the dainty blooms.

This little one was rather funny, I was in the woods photographing when I noticed him on the ground. He followed me, then I him, it was so unusual yet fascinating that when he stopped, it was if to say okay, take my photograph I'm ready now, and so I did. Nice pose, hey! 

My apology for being away for so long, the last few months have been filled with babies, each having there own little issues that required them to have hospital stays. Even little William, who gave us all a scare, not to worry he is fine. Merely lactose intolerant which took the doctors awhile to figure out. Strange huh!
